How to create a character in after effects

Basic Character Skillz
WARNING
This tutorial is for people with average skills with Adobe After Effects
I am creating a video at the time to show every single step for absolute begginers
Adobe After Effects
Step 1 Creating a character will vary in difficulty as in you will need to decide how much complicated it needs to be. First you will need to a idea of your character and you’ll need means to draw and create this character(I recommend paint tool sai) Create a 1280x720 canvas and be ready to start drawing!

Step 2 Creating a character will require you to separate each different “body part” onto different layers. Make different layers, or if you're using paint tool sai, create a linework layer.
Step 3 Drawing each part onto different layers will take time, but as soon as you finish your character different layers and all, you will need to save it as .psd so we will be able to keep the layers separate.

Step 4 Next you will need to transfer this document into either adobe after effects or adobe flash by importing your character into a new 1280x720 project.

Step 5 Adobe After Effects
To have a animatable character you will have to go into each layer and place pins onto places where you want your character to pivot. Here's a video that I found very helpful in explaining that.
